SPUD CELLAR

Dubbed Spud Cellar in recognition of the structure that once neighbored this site (center, left of
photo), this 35-acre parcel was once part of the expanse of working ranches that
stretched south through the Brush Creek Valley in Eagle. Today, the site is part
of the Town of Eagle's open space, serving to protect this small but
ecologically-sensitive area between the Eagle Recreation Center and the Kaibab
residential area.
Purchased by the Town
in 2006, this property is one of two parcels that comprised the Trust's first
easement, granted by Elinor Allen in 1987. The other 27-acre parcel (Johnson
Easement) remains in private ownership and provides a pristine buffer of
pastureland between Brush Creek Road and Eagle Ranch.
